This delightfully Swedish wooden horse is handmade in Holmestad, a small village in Sweden. Over-eighty Karl-Erik carves, planes and sands each horse patiently from wood. Maud Stiller then paints and signs each one to her own design.

The Holmestad horse (Holmestadhäst) is the little brother of the better-known dala horse (dalahäst) – less well known but equally beautiful in design. Not mass production, but honest craftsmanship made with love.
